Navratri Celebration 2019

In continuation with the activity conducted so far, on account of Swacchata pakwada – Cleanliness fortnight program, today we have conducted Rally with Classes VI to VIII Students. Teachers and Students were holding the Placards depicting the quotes based on cleanliness and personal hygiene. Also, Students were taught how to do maintain their personal hygiene through the activities of shoe polishing and nail cutting with the students of Classes III to VIII.

On account of International Literacy Day, an activity entitled “Getting into the character” was conducted for Primary Students. A conversation in Akbar court in the presence of Birbal and other Ministers was the highlight of the skit. Students got into the character with excitement and did their best

Glimpses of Educational trip to Pondicherry by Secondary and Sr. Sec students of Alagu Jothi Academy Nearly 130 students and 13 Staff had a field visit to Aranya Forest and Sanctuary – Biodiversity Conservation centre in Auroville. Aranya, comprising regenerated dry evergreen forest and man-made water bodies, is home to many rare and endangered species. Water bodies, specially created to conserve rainwater and raise the water level, have attracted many migratory species. They also visited Abdul Kalam Musuem depicting Species Life in Marine and Ocean which was very interesting and informative. Commerce students have visited The Grand Technologies - Manufacturer of precision injection molding components, electrical plastic components & commercial injection molding products. The production process and its commercial aspects were discussed by the Chief of the company.

Primary Health Care (PHC) includes all of the basic services that are required to meet our everyday healthcare needs. To make students aware about the role of Primary Health Care which plays an important part of keeping ourselves healthy, Students of Class VII were taken to PHC, Keelaiyur. Onam, the festival of Happiness, Peace and Prosperity was celebrated in Alagu Jothi Academy on 10th September 2019. A special speech about the significance of onam was given by the Secondary student. Teachers decorated a Pookalam (Rangoli) with fresh flower petals and grass. Diyas were lit and placed upon the Poolakalam, giving an almost spiritual ambience to the occasion. The children observed the special day in their own distinctive style by tapping along in delight to traditional Onam songs played

In continuation with an Eye Camp organized at Alagu Jothi Academy, by a team from Aravind Eye Hospital, Puducherry, Hospital has donated spectacles for those students based on their eye checkup. It was distributed by our Correspondent and Principal. Students were advised to take care of their eyes by taking nutritious diet rich in Vitamin A, doing proper eye exercise and to be away from electrical gadgets.

Alagu Jothi academy having recognized, the vital role of the schools in spreading the awareness about Swachhata Mission and its implementation across the country by conducting so many events towards Cleanliness drive for Swachh Bharat, a fortnight program. In this connection, today our activity was to focus on community participation by involving teachers, students and undertaking cleanliness awareness drives in the temple. Students have participated very enthusiastically in this program and expressed their concern towards the society through their service.

Tamilnadu Athletic Association conducting 34th tamilnadu indoor district Junior Athletic Championship held at J.N. stadium, Chennai from 30th August to 01st September 2019. Our school students participated and got the certificate.

20th Sqay National Championship – 2019, Himachal Pradesh held at Indoor stadium Rohru district himachal Pradesh from 20th to 22nd August 2019. Our school student H. Hari Ramji got the bronze medal.

On account of National Sports Day, students are witnessing Live Launching of Fit India Movement by the Honorable Prime Minister at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. Around thousand Students have taken part in this event and they have taken Fitness pledge during launch function.


Alagu Jothi Academy celebrated the festival of Gokulastami with great zeal and pomp by our tiny tots on account of Lord Krishna birthday, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, with flutes & peacock feathers and entered our school premises with great joy and enthusiasm. Around 100 students participated in the event where it was decorated beautifully with the spirit of festivity. The Slogan of Bhagavad Gita ("Song of God") which is the essence of the knowledge, action, and love was recited by the students followed by explanation. Krishna Leela song was sung by one of our tiny tots. The celebration which was truly entertaining and educating was concluded with sweets distribution.

Appreciation for Teacher of Class X Who Achieved District First in CBSE Board Exam 2018-19.

Alagu Jothi Academy organized an Eye Camp with the team of ophthalmologists’ from Aravind Eye Hospital, Puducherry. It was based on the Preliminary vision tests conducted earlier for all the students, especially who wears spectacles to keep them updated on the correct eye vision. Parents were also called during this examination and updated with the status of Eye Checkup of their wards.

Tamilnadu & Pondichery State level yoga competition organized by Indian Yoga Academy held at AGRA matriculation school 04.08.2019 Cholampettai. Our school student participated and got the medals and certificate.

Alagu Jothi Academy International Standard CBSE School, Mayiladuthurai celebrated Ramadan on Thursday. Mr. Mohamed Arsath, and Mr. Abdul Hameed adorned the function as chief guests and made the moments gracious. Mr. A. Kannan, the Chairman, Mrs. Kavitha Kannan, The Director of Academics, Mr. P. Sivakumar, the Correspondent, Mr. Noel Mani, the Principal, Mrs. Hema Sridhar, the KG Principal, Mrs. Radhika, upper primary ACO, Mrs. Deivanai, Primary ACO and Mrs. John Pauline Pre Primary ACO presided over the function. The Chief Guest congratulated the Chairman for organizing such a wonderful religious function persisting the unity among the religions unbiased. According to Muslim rituals, Ramadan strengthens our powers of self-control, so that we can resist wrongful desires and bad habits, and therefore “guard against evil”. The teaching of the Qur’an leads to good character, truthfulness, patience, determination and trustworthiness. At the end of the programme, students hugged one another irrespective of religious and exchanged Ramadan wishes.
